XL102 Big Field Day @ Innsbrook After Hours 6/23

One of the biggest festivals in Virginia will be taking place this Saturday, June 23rd! The lineup features AWOLNATION, Dashboard Confessional, Manchester Orchestra, Moon Taxi, and J Roddy Walston & the Business.

Syke is gonna be hanging out at Innsbrook After Hours for this show and handing out some really rad (free!) gear, so don’t forget to stop by, grab some merch, and say what’s up!

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THE PERFORMING BANDS:

AWOLNATION recently released their 3rd studio album in February, entitled “Here Come the Runts”. You probably know them by their most famous song, “Sail”, which has peaked on multiple Billboard charts. Catch “Sail” and other awesome tracks at their set on Saturday!

DASHBOARD CONFESSIONAL is led by Chris Carrabba, who you might also know from American rock band Further Seems Forever. Dashboard has released their 7th (you read that right, 7th!) studio album this past February, called Crooked Shadows. Be sure to join us at what will be Hands Down a killer performance! 😉

MANCHESTER ORCHESTRA is another legendary indie rock act you need to know. They’ve made several appearances at other favorite festivals (Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Coachella), as well as well-known talk shows (Late Show with David Letterman, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Jimmy Kimmel Live!). This is surely a band you will not want to miss come Saturday. See you there!

MOON TAXI is another band familiar to the festival scene. The band recently signed to RCA this past year, and has released five studio albums since their formation in 2006. They are the perfect mesh of indie and alternative for all rock fans. Come jam with Moon Taxi (and us) at XL102 Big Field Day!

Lastly, but certainly not least, J RODDY WALSTON & THE BUSINESS is not far from home, based in Richmond. Their rock sound has traces of their southern roots, originally hailing from Tennessee. The band is most known for their upbeat, energetic live performances featuring J. Roddy Walston’s ‘pounding style’ of playing piano. Bring your dancing shoes this weekend!
